Required Clothing and Equipment

Helmets… Are mandatory. We have rental ones available that are are included in your entry cost if you don’t have your own.
Gloves, Eyewear, Mouth-guards… are all highly reccomended safety equpiment. Eyewear is availble free of charge and the other are availble to purchase in the shop should you need some. Thin, grippy gloves that allow a good amount of dexterity work best.
Footwear We have a full size range of competition fruit-boots available to hire. All routes are also climbable with rock climbing shoes or Mountaineering boots.
Ice Axes: You can bring your own winter climbing axes, but they must conform to the Rules of the Toolbox. If you prefer, we have competion style axes available to hire (they make using some of the holds much easier!)
Long Bottoms: We reccomend wearing trousers or leggings to help protect your legs from splinters and/or your crampons. Shorts are OK if you decide to wear only climbing shoes!
Completed Paperwork: You must complete the registration paperwork to be able to use the Toolbox and sign in at reception before every visit to the facility.
