Our head route setter, @willismorris25 aka 'Tilly'

Our head route setter, @willismorris25 aka 'Tilly' not only sets some cracking routes on our walls here at GCC but also devotes a lot of spare time to developing new sport routes outdoors too.

It's no easy feat, scouting, cleaning, drilling and bolting new lines, but the new Sport crag 'The Bunker' which lies just an hour from Glasgow already has 22 routes set up with grades ranging from 4+ up into the high 8's!!

If you haven't been to check it out yet, its well worth a visit, especially if you're new to outdoor climbing and just beginning to lead as there are plenty of easy routes with friendly bolting at a nice low angle 🙌👌

If you've been up and enjoyed it, consider throwing a few quid towards the bolt fund that's been set up to help purchase more bolts, lower-offs and equipment for the crag. A small amount goes a long way and you'll know you've contributed something to the climbing community not just currently, but also for the future.

We will be closed next Saturday the 9th all day for Climbers. The Scottish Dry-Tooling Club are hosting the British Ice Climbing Championships in the centre - The biggest Dry-Tooling competition the UK has ever seen. Climbing, Kendal Mountain Film Tour, stalls, gear demos, talks, presentations, TopOut Brewery Bar, after-party. This is going to be the event of the year. Spectator tickets are available on the tooling club's website.
